Dryer Vent Inspection in Jacksonville, FL

What a dryer vent inspection actually involves

The inspection starts at the dryer, not the wall. We pull the unit forward and look at the transition hose first. In narrow Jacksonville laundry closets, that flex is usually crushed behind a pedestal washer. Then we measure static pressure or airflow at the duct. Weak flow tells us there is a restriction; it does not tell us where. So a camera goes in next, and we push it as far as the run allows. We note every elbow, every joint, and whether the duct is rigid metal or foil.

Outside, the termination gets its own look. Roof jacks on second-floor laundry rooms are the common failure point here. Lint cakes wet to the duct wall on long roof runs because humid air cools before it exits. At the beaches, exterior hoods rust or jam open from salt air. Wasps and birds nest flapper hoods shut.

We also trace where the duct goes. Older homes often hide foil running through a crawl or attic, left by a previous owner. Interior closets turn up into a soffit or chase. In stacked condos, that chase is shared vertically.

The report lists run length, material, and blockage location. It also states whether cleaning fixes it or the duct needs rerouting.
